This week BCL’s partner, John Binns is at the Cambridge Symposium on Economic Crime, where Lisa Osofsky has delivered a keynote speech in her new role as director of the Serious Fraud Office. In the context of the Symposium’s theme this year of unexplained wealth, she stressed that the SFO would continue to prioritise the recovery of criminal proceeds, and aim to maximise the impact on illicit finance flowing through the UK.

John Binns is a partner at BCL, specialising in business crime and proceeds of crime. Most of his cases involve an international element, and he has advised clients on appeals to the CJEU in the context of international corruption allegations and targeted financial sanctions.
