The Practitioner’s Guide to Global Investigations

The Practitioner’s Guide to Global Investigations

BCL partner, Brian Spiro, and solicitor, Gavin Costelloe, have co-authored a chapter in Global Investigations Review’s inaugural work “The Practitioner’s Guide to Global Investigations”; published in the UK on 24 January and in the USA on 9 February 2017.

The Guide is the first publication to cover each stage of the lifecycle of a corporate investigation: from discovery of the initial problem to its conclusion and beyond and comprises chapters written by many of the leading authorities from the UK, USA and other jurisdictions.

Brian and Gavin’s chapter is titled “Individuals in Cross-Border Investigations or Proceedings: The UK Perspective” and focuses on the issues and challenges an individual may encounter when subject to a cross-border investigation. It covers a range of issues including extradition and asset seizure to privilege and evidentiary considerations and corporate settlement discussions.
