Rishi Joshi

Rishi is an associate in BCL’s serious and general crime team.

Rishi trained and qualified into the criminal defence department of a highly reputable London law firm. He worked as an accredited duty solicitor and regularly represented clients under the police station and magistrates’ court duty schemes. Rishi worked in the youth criminal justice system representing young people at the police station and in the youth courts both as a litigator and advocate. He was involved in providing advice on serious public order and protest matters as well as serious sexual and violent offences. Rishi has experience representing vulnerable suspects in the criminal justice system and dealing with fitness to plea issues as well as modern slavery matters in the context of criminal proceedings. He has also represented suspects accused of fraud and money laundering offences in the crown court.

Rishi read French and German at King’s College London and graduated with first-class honours prior to converting to law. During his undergraduate studies, he spent a year abroad studying at the University of Geneva and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. He was admitted as a solicitor in March 2021.
