Oliver’s clients are public figures, politically exposed persons, and HNWs in the business, finance, and entertainment sectors. He regularly coordinates complex cross-border defensive engagements for individuals and international family offices with sophisticated financial arrangements or business affairs. Oliver also has particular expertise advising clients impacted by cancel culture.
Background
Oliver has a unique variety of experience as a commercial litigator, prosecutor, and criminal defence lawyer. He has particular expertise advising on sensitive issues that require an appreciation of the interplay between commercial, criminal, and reputational issues.
Following a BA in Classics at Merton College, Oxford, Oliver began his legal career in 2010 at a leading American law firm in London – he qualified as a solicitor in the white-collar litigation team in 2012. He was subsequently admitted to the Bar in 2014. Oliver joined BCL from a leading London criminal defence team, prior to which he spent time as a Crown Prosecutor and later a barrister at 2 Hare Court representing clients in regulatory tribunals and the criminal courts.
