Anoushka Warlow on a Passion for Justice and the Evolving Landscape of Financial Crime

17 November 2025

In a recent feature for ICLG News, BCL partner Anoushka Warlow shares how an early experience in serious crime work sparked a lifelong passion for the criminal justice process, one that continues to drive her today.

Starting her career in Manchester, Anoushka discovered her vocation while working on complex and high-profile cases, including the Dale Cregan murder trial. That experience led her to specialise in financial crime, where she now advises individuals and corporates in investigations by the Serious Fraud Office, Financial Conduct Authority, National Crime Agency and overseas regulators.

In the interview, Anoushka discusses the intellectual challenge of white-collar defence, the importance of fairness and integrity in cross-border investigations, and the need for reform to ensure access to justice. She also speaks about improving diversity and inclusion within the legal profession and supporting the next generation of practitioners.

Her reflections capture both the complexity and the humanity of criminal law and the belief that fairness and justice must remain at its core.
