Oliver is a partner specialising in business crime, regulatory investigations, and general criminal litigation. His practice centres on defending the freedoms, assets, and reputations of High Net Worths (HNWs) and their family members.

Oliver’s clients are public figures, politically exposed persons, and HNWs in the business, finance, and entertainment sectors. He regularly coordinates complex cross-border defensive engagements for individuals and international family offices with sophisticated financial arrangements or business affairs.

Oliver has a unique variety of experience as a commercial litigator, prosecutor, and criminal defence lawyer. He has particular expertise advising on sensitive issues that require an appreciation of the interplay between commercial, criminal, and reputational issues.

Following a BA in Classics at Merton College, Oxford, Oliver began his legal career in 2010 at a leading American law firm in London – he qualified as a solicitor in the white-collar litigation team in 2012. He was subsequently admitted to the Bar in 2014. Oliver joined BCL from a leading London criminal defence team, prior to which he spent time as a Crown Prosecutor and later a barrister at 2 Hare Court representing clients in regulatory tribunals and the criminal courts.
