Ewelina is an associate in BCL’s Civil Litigation team.

Ewelina advises clients in relation to litigation and how to avoid it. She works with clients across a range of sectors and geographies, including companies, directors and high net worth individuals. She acts for clients in their capacity as claimants or defendants and represents them on a broad spectrum of matters but with some focus and particular interest in complex and serious fraud, insolvency and cryptocurrency disputes.

Prior to joining BCL, Ewelina worked in an established boutique firm where she dealt with fraud and asset tracing cases involving cryptocurrencies and cross-border litigation against international banks.

Ewelina read International Law at Lancaster University graduating in 2016. As part of her studies, she spent a year studying civil law in the Netherlands. Ewelina achieved a distinction in the LLM Legal Practice Course and was admitted as a solicitor in November 2020. Ewelina joined BCL in March 2024.

Ewelina is fluent in Polish.

Cases:

  • Pursuing a Ukrainian conglomerate for over €110 million civil fraud and conspiracy to injure claim, including obtaining a worldwide freezing injunction
  • Pursuing a Swiss investment bank for breach of equitable duty of care
  • Defending an Indian businessman and a related company in two Commercial Court claims brought by an Indian investment bank for repayment of loans
  • Bringing a multimillion pound civil fraud case including obtaining a worldwide freezing injunction and several Norwich Pharmacal orders on behalf of a victim for misappropriation of cryptocurrency
  • Defending a former director in a claim for breach of statutory, contractual and fiduciary duties in connection with fraud and money laundering investigation
